Battle.net is an online gaming service which was launched in December 1996 with the release of the gaming title Diablo by the company Blizzard Entertainment. Blizzard is the developer of titles such as Warcraft II released on December 1995, Starcraft released in March 1998, World of Warcraft released in November 2004. The company became Activation Blizzard in November 2008.

Battle.Net 2.0 was released in August 2010. Diablo III was released for the XBox 360 and Playstation 2 consoles. Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition can be played on Playstation 4 and XBox One.

The Blizzard Battle.Net desktop app delivers access to all Blizzard games, connectivity with friends and shopping for digital games. The Blizzard Battle.Net Mobile App can be downloaded from Apples's App Store or Google's Google Play. The app provides chat and the ability to see what friends are playing.
